1 kg Braising beef, cubed 4 T Vindaloo paste (to taste) 1 lg Onion 1/2 c Ghee 2 T Toasted almond flakes Cooking time: 1 1/4 hours Mix the vindaloo paste and beef together Finely chop the onion and cook in the ghee until quite dark in colour. Add the beef and cook until brown. Add water to cover , partially cover the pan and cook for 40 minutes, then uncover and cook until meat is tender and the sauce well reduced. Served garnished with the almonds.

DESCRIPTION: I ate here as part of a group event in which we were limited to one menu choice. The reluctantly relented to provide vegetarian dishes, which at the time of service were completely forgotten about. Nothing about the food was outstanding. The service was poor, and the seating crowded.
