Didn't Know What I Was Missing!
DESCRIPTION: Tried the new "Victorian Wycombe Inn" on a whim for the first time. How wonderful an experience. The hostess was very polite and attentive. The chef even came to our table to check on how we liked our dinner. The portions were extreme!!! I can't believe how reasonable the prices are and how large the portions are. I enjoyed the Steak De Anna as my husband enjoyed his Prime Rib. We each had a house salad which was complimented with three choices of dressing -- the raspberry vinagrette being my favorite. Asked to have the rest of meal wrapped so I could save room for dessert. The key lime was my first choice and how delectable it was. A wonderful dining experience. The ambiance is wonderful. Nice dinner music playing and decorated to make you feel like you are in the "Victorian" Wycombe Inn. Thank you!

High Tea at the Wycombe Inn...Forget It!
DESCRIPTION: Wycombe Inn offered a High Tea for Mother's Day...don't waste your time. There are many other Tea Rooms much better than what the Wycombe offers its customers. While other tea rooms offer lovely mixed green and spinach salads with goat cheese, walnuts and delicious raspberry vinigarette, the Wycombe serves up a hunk of iceberg with one cucumber slice and a cherry tomato dry and then sends out a bowl of raspberry dressing, obviously bottled. Expecting a lovely fresh fruit...more like canned fruit cocktail at the Wycombe. Perhaps some nice tea sandwiches...wrong again, roast beef on a dinner roll, shrimp salad on a not so fresh croissant (and not very good either) and ham and cheese on a dinner roll with scoop of german potato salad, along with a mini eclair, miniture cheesecake all the frozen variety on the same plate. I would consider it a deli plate more than a high tea for $19.95 per person. Not to mention an owner who doesn't know how to be courteous to her customers and was on the defensive immediately as she raised her voice and asked us to leave her restaurant when we voiced our disappointment. She was not concerned that eight people left plates that were 85% full. Oh yes, the Wycombe does not serve scones with their high tea. Yes, it was a lovely Mothers Day at the Wycombe for $211.47 cents.

Too Pink and Lacy
DESCRIPTION: I love Victorian style architecture and decor, but this restaurant was oozing with an excessive amount of hot pink walls and dolls wearing doilies. The waitress was very accommodating, attentive and sweet, but the food was bland, greasy and chewy. The "famous crabcakes" were like crabby coasters and the shrimp bounced. I would recommend that the prices come down and the quality go up. It wasn't awful mind you...just lackluster. They might want to tone down the walls a tad. Pepto Bismol pink just doesn't cut it.

Hard to Find, Easy to Go Back
DESCRIPTION: My wife and I don't vacation - we eat!! Our hobby is to travel around and search for new restaurants. I have to say this will be one we will be going back to. The service was pleasant the food was warm but not scalding - just right. The overall atmosphere was very warm and comfortable. Plenty of room to operate and good conversation pieces can be found by just looking around. We started with four appetizers. The casinos which I liked; my wife does not like green pepper so she stayed away. The next appetizer was the shrimp wrapped in bacon with a horseradish sauce that was vey good. Next appetizer: Portabello mushroom with crab meat -- we both highly recommend this. Last appetizer: escargot -- the chef put a nice twist to a traditional garlic stuffed snail. Then came the dinners (Octoberfest for me, crab cakes for the wife). There was so much on our plates they were overflowing. Quality was not sacrificed for quantity either. Ask for extra mustard if you get the Octoberfest. I was very happy with my choice as I am a big fan of The Newportville Inn, Otto's and Monk's Cafe for German food and this did not disappoint. My wife, who loves The Kopper Kettle, Djenga and Sansom Street Oyster House for their seafood dishes was also happy with her choice. Both of us brought stuff home and I can usually handle a full plate, if you know what I mean. We could not fit dessert as we did not expect that much on our plates for the price. I would have to say for a nice drive through the burbs in the fall to an old historic setting to eat a warm well cooked, full plate, quality meal, this was a good trip. I would recommend you call for directions as the ones we got off Mapquest were a little misleading, especially at night.

Excellent Food and Bar
DESCRIPTION: A little while ago, my fiance and I dined at the Victorian Wycombe Inn and Tea Room. We were greeted and then seated in a booth surounded with angelic scenery and a Victorian atmosphere. We ate the innkeeper's baked brie and my fiance ate bacon wrapped shrimp that was delicious. For our main course we ordered a 20 oz. lobster tail that melted in my mouth; it was so big I put the other half in a to-go container. Too much food...but delicious! For dessert we had a tiramisu that I was too stuffed to eat, so my fiance finished for me. Also I forgot to say that my fiance had the Beef Wellington that was also equally excellent. While we were there we had drinks from the bar and I had heard that there was a "Tea Room" it sounded great so a couple of friends and I are going for a high tea in a few weeks. I cant wait to make a writeup on that!

I Loved It.
DESCRIPTION: Ok I've been to this restaurant around 6 times and had an excellent meal every time! And unlike the review above, the Beef Wellington is fabulous and would highly recommend it. They had wonderful appetizers, especially the shrimp wrapped in bacon, and the brie is to die for. It's a warm cozy atmosphere; great place for a date, or a night with a few friends. As far as the owners and employees, I am always welcomed with a warm smile and they go out of their way to make sure you have everything you need. I'm not sure these other people are even reviewing the right place, because the Wycombe I dine at is great.

Good Food, Good People, Good Time
DESCRIPTION: First went to the Victorian Inn in November of 2003. Great experience. Decided to celebrate New Years there with some friends and had a great time. The lobster tails were 20 oz. and tender. Surf and turf tasted wonderful. After dinner went to the bar and met the owners, Kevin and Deanna. They couldn't have been nicer. We have been back there twice since and will continue to frequent this flashback to the Victorian era.

DESCRIPTION: Two friends and I had tea at the Wycombe Inn this afternoon and found evrything to our liking. The hostess was friendly and helpful and the food was terrific. We epecially enjoyed the scones and tea sandwiches. The choices of tea are more than ample and they were delicious as well. It provided a nice atmosphere to sit and chat also. We'll all be going back there soon and will also recommend it to our friends.

Great Evening
DESCRIPTION: My wife and I celebrated our 31st Wedding Anniversary at the Inn. We were warmly greeted and graciously served. The Inn is interestingly decorated and the menu is diverse. I had the Roast Duck and my wife had the Sea Food Platter. Both were served hot and were excellent. The Basset's Rum Raisin Ice Cream topped off the meal. It was a great experience and we will certainly return again.

Wonderful Tea Party
DESCRIPTION: My mother, who recently moved to the Bucks County area invited my daughter and myself to a tea party at the Victorian Wycombe Inn. I had never been to a high tea before, but this was such a beautiful experience, I hope to do it again. The teas were delicious, and you had quite a choice. The finger sandwiches as well as the scones (yes, contrary to another reviewer who complained, scones are served at the high tea) cakes, and petit eclairs and puffs were served on a tiered plate. The Owner was very friendly and attentive. I highly recommend the high tea, and am anxious to try the dinners and lodging for a true Victorian experience.

DESCRIPTION: The Cameo Tearoom is located in downtown Gainesville. The building is a cute old house decorated as a really pretty tearoom. Now, I would not generally be the sort of person to go to a tearoom however, I went with my wife and loved it. We went to a special event a Celtic theme Christmas dinner that was great. I have gone back once since to have lunch and enjoyed it so much that I can't wait to go back after the New Year to try the new menu. I do not drink tea but they were very helpful and substituted without complaint. The service was excellent and the owner checked on us regularly.
