1 lb Beef liver; sliced 2 md Apples; chopped 1 md Onion; chopped 1 1/2 ts Salt 1/8 ts Pepper 6 sl Bacon; cut in pieces 1/4 c Water; or beef bouillon Place liver in greased shallow casserole. cover with apples, onion, salt, and pepper. Top with bacon pieces and add liquid. Bake, covered, at 325 degrees for 1 1/2 hours, removing cover during last 20 minutes of baking. SOURCE: Southern Living Magazine, October, 1972. Delicious bakery products!
DESCRIPTION: I can't tell you how wonderful this little bakery is. It's tucked away on a side street off Voss, but well worth a visit. The breads and cakes are wonderful. I now buy all my birthday cakes here - they are that good. The streudel is very good and the chocolate-filled croissants are to die for. Rolands is a Swiss bakery. The service is brusque at times, especially if there's a line but the food has never disappointed. This baker is attached to a German restaurant. You will hear more German spoken than English!
