"Crockpot Stuffed Cabbage" from Davor's Cafe, Aiken, SC
| Ingredients | | | 24 | each | cabbage leaves | | | 1 | cup | onions, chopped | | | 1/2 | cup | minute rice | | | 1/8 | teaspoon | pepper | | | 1/4 | teaspoon | nutmeg | | | 6 | oz | can tomato paste | | | 1 | pound | lean ground beef | | | 2 | each | garlic cloves, minced | | | 1/2 | teaspoon | salt | | | 1/4 | teaspoon | leaf thyme | | | 1/4 | teaspoon | cinnamon | | | 3/4 | cup | water | | | | | |
Directions:
| Wash cabbage leaves. Boil 4 cups water. Turn heat off. Soak leaves in water for 5 minutes. Remove, drain and cool. Combine remaining ingredients except tomato paste and water. Place 2 tb. of mixture on each leaf and roll firmly. Stack in crockpot. Combine tomato paste and water and pour over stuffed cabbage. Cover and cook on low setting for 8 to 10 hours.

Not such a hit anymore
DESCRIPTION: After eating at Davor's numerous times over the past year or so, we found our most recent dining experience less than enjoyable. The service has ALWAYS been a bit of an issue, but it is something those of our group of friends endured because they had such great food. The food over the past month or so hasn't been what we have come to expect. As one of my friends observed, it was like an inexperienced home cook had taken over the restaurant, and was doing things that they had very little understanding of. We and our friend have decided to wait until spring to go back, and wait for the patio to re-open, and give it another try. Until then , we'll be eating up the street at one of the better restaurants in Aiken.
