The REAL thing in New Mexican cuisine
DESCRIPTION: Those little old ladies have been rolling hand-made tortillas for years. And the green and red chile is probably the best in New Mexico. You absolutly can't go wrong with this little gem. It's tucked away in a corner of a drugstore and this is the real thing.

New to Logan
DESCRIPTION: The Chili's in Layton is superb; this one will hopefully improve soon -- it is not enough to pile on the spice; too much for me. Pretty good variety, nice decor (Chili's is a franchise or chain where they all pretty much look alike) but count on hot, spicy food on the menu.

Gem of the old Springs hands
DESCRIPTION: This place often has southwestern and French dishes - not too many choices in one evening but everything chosen by the chef to harmonize. Delicious food, pleasant atmosphere in an architecturally quirky building, and live entertainment downstairs on the weekends (call first). A little-talked-about but much-prized restaurant for special occasions, treasured by people who have lived in the Springs for long enough to have "discovered" it.

This bar is fun
DESCRIPTION: Lots of TVs. Decent music, a staff that looks like they're having fun. I had boneless buffalo tenders, mmmm. Too bad the blue cheese dressing was runny.

Manhattan in Hilo!
DESCRIPTION: Restaurant Kaikodo offers a fine dining experience in a casual tropical environment. The food was well prepared and well presented. The wine and drink list was extensive. At a family dinner we had Ahi Tataki Nigiri sushi with ponzu green onion and ginger, Kaikodo Sushi with kampachi tartar with caviar, garlic shallot and wasabi vinaigrette & grilled trumpet mushrooms. We had tapioca crusted Ono with Thai eggplant in coconut sweet chili sauce, coconut sticky rice with crispy basil. We had gomashio seared Ahi with yuzu-mustard horseradish sauce, saut ed spinach, and green chili mashed potatoes. We also had grilled loin of pork & five fragrance baby back ribs with garlic shoyu glaze, grilled baby bok choy, and sweet potato hash. With the fish, we had Crossings (N.Z.) Sauvignon Blanc. For dessert we had Strawberry shortcake, white chocolate chili brioche bread pudding, flaming hot lava cake, and lilikoi cheesecake. Everything was extraordinary.

Fun, fun, fun.
DESCRIPTION: Always an interesting clientele. Fun, entertainment, both planned and spontaneous. Good beers, inexpensive happy hours beers. Great BBQ, large portions. Outdoor patio dining in summer. Crowded inside in winter with smoking allowed, yuck! Slow service when it's packed. Kiddy corral for the little ones.
