DESCRIPTION: The food is beautifully presented as well as delicious. We love the three flavor sizzling rice soup that is presented with rice added at the table. Yummy. The egg foo young is delicious but is not the traditional pancake with the yellow gravy. The atmosphere is peaceful and serene. A favorite with our family and friends.

DESCRIPTION: Hidden in a strip mall it isn't hidden far enough. Hot and Sour soup was poor, Egg Roll, Paper Wrapped Chicken, Lemon chicken, and "Mogolian" Beef were all just acceptable. Not worth the visit.

Nice family spot
DESCRIPTION: I've eaten here for years. Originally, it was one of Camarillo's few spots to eat out and it has a nice ambiance with owls and a fountain. The food is decent, but nothing exceptional. You will not go away hungry.

El Tecolote
DESCRIPTION: I grew up in Camarillo in the 60's. I used to play pool at the Boys Club a block away for tacos at El Tecolote. Several times per month, our family would have Sunday night dinner at El Tecolote. I would without hesitation visit El Tecolote on my next visit to Camarillo.

Mediocre at best
DESCRIPTION: Very mediocre Mexican restaurant. The food was just okay. I'd recommend pretty much any other Mexican place in Camarillo over this one.

Great food, prices and service
DESCRIPTION: I came upon Presto Pasta one night when I was craving Italian food. I expected the food to be average, but was pleasantly surprised to find the food tasted great and the price was just as good. Not only was the food delicious, but the service was awesome and the atmosphere was enjoyable. The restaurant is a family owned operation and once you visit Presto Pasta, you feel like you become part of that family.

Strip Mall Food
DESCRIPTION: This chain has a following but I'm not one of them. The price seems right but it adds up fast. Chicken Picata and the Lasagna both lacked any flavor. The salad is more for rabbits than humans. Even tried a Shrimp special and couldn't taste the shrimp that I saw on the plate. That's saying something.

DESCRIPTION: Food - Pear salad was great. Bread was differant and very good. Rib eye steak - extremely fatty, sent a lot more back than I could eat. Vegetables were very good. My husband had veal paccata, plate looked pretty, but food was meager. He is a bread eater, so filled up on that. Creme Brulee was good, but small in that dish and fruit was wilted and dry looking. These comments are meant constructively, as you have good atmosphere, music was good, you are on the edge of being a really good restaurant. Creme Brulee was good but sparse.

Beauty IS only skin deep
DESCRIPTION: A beautiful restaurant in a strip mall. The only things lacking are service and decent food. The Lobster Bisque didn't taste like Lobster and not even a good bisque. The special Lasagna and teh Veal Parmigana were both pretty bad. What a shame such a pretty place can't come up with decent food. The service was slow and inattentive (no bread while we were waiting) almost as if no one cared.

Fresh fish from the Brit
DESCRIPTION: He's definitly a Brit as the decor tells you. Makes fish and chips the way the Brits like it. Very good Chowder but the Fish and Chips (2 or 3 pc sizes) are what to get (spend money for the recommendation). You won't go wrong. Only problem is that it's in the back of a dingy strip mall.

Great theme, not so great food
DESCRIPTION: Wonderfully themed restaurant- "Bandits"- sorry to say the food is not so wonderful. A bit pricey for the quality and portions. The garlic bread comes "grilled", couldn't taste much garlic, but tasted the "grill" just fine. If you love a wonderful "theme" this place is for you, if the food is more important, try another BBQ.

St. Louis Ribs

Thousand Oaks Bandits
DESCRIPTION: I've enjoyed the T.O. location for many years - good food, good service. Though I frequent the 'to go' window at the Camarillo store, largely because I work nearby, the food there is not as good. Since I really like BBQ though, 'not as good' is still pretty good!

Good BBQ
DESCRIPTION: Not the best BBQ but one of two decent chains. The St. Louis and the Baby Back Ribs are both worth trying. I prefer the fries to the beans and the salad to the cole slaw. Western/nostalgia theme is always interesting.

Sounds good, but its not
DESCRIPTION: When Bandits first opened the food and service was pretty good. Not anymore. The customer service is poor. Much too relaxed and not very professional. The servers seem annoyed when you need a refill. But worse is the food. The portions are MUCH smaller and the quality of food is just not what it was. Particularly their beef. Very dry. I have since reverted back to my prior fave place Wood Ranch and backup the Outback. I will never return to Bandits.
