DESCRIPTION: Authentic pollo a la brasa. Spices are nice. Sides of beans and rice are good, too. Run by latinos, probably a family. Home-made decor is cozy. I suggest takeout, as the TV is on, and too loud.

great chicken
DESCRIPTION: Chicken with fries and slaw - that's all there is. The chicken is super, and the fries and slaw are passable. It is really rotisserie in a Latin style. A favorite with expatriate South and Central Americans.

DESCRIPTION: The chicken is superb along with the fries and slaw. That is there whole menu, apart from some desserts that are well worth a try. It is a family run restaurant that has been operating in Arlington for about 15 years and was the first.

El Pollo Rico is
DESCRIPTION: El Pollo Rico's "pollo" (chicken in Spanish) is DA BOMB. It's the second best chicken I've ever had, and I've traveled the world (the best was in Turkey). Damn, is it good. And the nice thing about it is that the price is extraordinarily reasonable. It's no wonder lines go out of the restaurant on a regular basis and have for years. A friend of a friend once called it "cocaine chicken" because it's so damned addictive. :-) The fries and slaw are decent and a good complement to the pollo, but I consider their pollo of gourmet level. And the family that runs it is very cool, too; just show 'em a little respect and they're quite friendly.

Crispy, Smoky, Succulent Bliss!
DESCRIPTION: Of the 3 pollo a la brasa restaurants I've visited, Super Chicken has *the* best chicken, by far. Cooked on genuine charcoal rotisseries, these birds are crispy on the outside, tender and moist on the inside, bursting with the flavor of excellent spicing and imbued throughout with delicate smokiness. Don't forget the beans, rice, and sauces (ask for extra--you'll be glad you did). Add some good South American beer and you'll be in heaven. Shop is very small, with only a few small tables lined up against a wall, so takeout is recommended.

Outstanding
DESCRIPTION: I work nextdoor to Super Chicken at Foxes Music and I eat at Super Chicken at least twice a week. It NEVER gets old...EVER! Although the place looks like a dump, the smell when you enter makes you forget. Don't be discouraged by the appearence. It's amazing. As far as the sides are concerned...the rice and beans are your best choice. Everything else, except the fries aren't that great. Basically, stick with the chicken...and you can't go wrong :-)

DESCRIPTION: Used to work near the Super Chicken and would eat there once a week or so. On its good days the chicken is about the best there is. Some days, though, rubbery skin and only quasi-hot bird made the experience less than enjoyable. I also wish they'd invest a little in decor.

Truly the Best Peruvian Pollo in the Area
DESCRIPTION: Tender chicken spiced with excellent seasonings and cooked over charcoal. The fries are meaty and good, but the yuca is even better! Friendly service, family atmosphere and community bulletin board. Some travel posters on the wall, and Peruvian music (instead of TV) would bring the atmosphere up to par with the food.
