Firecracker--not an outright dud.
DESCRIPTION: Recently we took a break from our habit of eating in the core downtown of Tucson and thought that we'd try out Firecracker. Of course, our decision was helped by the $50 gift certificate to McMahon's restaurants, and this was one of the more likely to offer up a variety of vegetarian foods. We started with an appatizer of spring rolls, of which I'm not inordinately fond, and these really left something to be desired. Cold in the middle, uncooked egg roll wrapper, and greasy to boot. It was just as though they had taken frozen egg rolls, dropped in the fryolater, and took them out a minute too soon. For the main course, one of us choose the vegetable Lo Mein, and the other had the Buddha's Delight. Both of these were better than the egg rolls, but the Lo Mein, also, was a bit on the greasy side, and could have used a few more vegetables. To my tastes, it was a bit bland. The Buddha's Delight was better, broccoli, bamboo shoots, and carrots stir fried in a spicy peanut sauce, and served with a side of rice (brown or white, your choice) with a spicy peanut sauce. For desert, one of us had the Creme Brulee, and the other went without desert, and it was reported to be quite good. Overall, I'd say you won't go too wrong in getting a bite to eat here--the food's OK, but if your looking for really good oriental food, you might be better off looking a bit harder. And for pricing, all of this, with one drink ran a bit over $40.

Roy's in Phoenix is a BIG disappointment
DESCRIPTION: Services: A 20 mins wait even after reservations made 3 weeks in advance. One hour wait between appetizers and salads. Our orders got mixed up two times, once by delivering other table's order to us, and once by delivering our orders to other table. Waiting staff made BAD recommendations. Overall, a poor serving staff. Food: Heavily seasoned, unlike the dishes in Honolulu. Entree portions were way too big. Overall, ordinary food. Price: Astronomical. We averaged $100.00 per person (combination deal includes appetizer, salad, entree and dessert). Overall, a very regular restaurant with poor services and extremely high prices.
