First-class Food at Bargain Basement Prices
DESCRIPTION: This little gem may well be Greenville's best-kept secret. Tucked behind another shop and marked by the smallest of signs, it offers some of the best Middle Eastern cuisine to be had anywhere at unbelievably low prices. (Most dishes cost less than $5.) Seating is limited. Lunch-time diners who arrive promptly at noon may have difficulty finding a table. But the top-notch service, the incredible food and the unbeatable prices make the meal well-worth the wait. The tahini salad and baba ghanoush are must-tries. The falafel is great add-on to any meal. The hummus is some of the best to be had. And everything else on the menu? Well, let's just say I haven't found anything that was less-than-perfect yet. In fact, this restaurant is so good that I eat tehre at least every other week -- even though I live a solid half-hour away.

The Best Restaurant in Greenville. Period.
DESCRIPTION: I lived in Greenville from 1994 through 1997, and in that time, the Pita House became my favorite restaurant. Since then, I have never failed to visit the Pita House upon returning to Greenville. I now live in New York City, where Mediterranean and Arabic restaurants abound; yet I still have not found a single establishment to compare with the Pita House - in terms of quality, service, and just plain friendliness. The owners and operators of the Pita House are all part of an extended family of Palestinian Christians who came to South Carolina many years ago. This makes for a convivial atmosphere and, perhaps unsurprisingly, excellent service. They do an excellent job of combining the exoticism inherent in any "ethnic" food restaurant with plain old Southern hospitality. The food is inexpensive (most dishes under $5; more than you can eat for $10), yet the portions are generous. Particularly noteworthy is the falafel, which avoids both extremes of greasiness and crumbliness that so often plague this dish. The hummus is equally well-made: never runny, never pasty, always delicious. I typically combine a side of each with a shawarma pita, and finish off with a pastry from the adjoining mini-grocery. Oh - it's worth noting that, in a region devoted to sweet tea, it's a Mediterranean restaurant run by immigrant that has got this drink made to perfection. Longtime Greenville residents know that the Pita House - tucked out of the way behind a pawn shop - is well worth seeking out. You should too.

Soo Good
DESCRIPTION: Me and my friends go to chill at Pita House all the time. It is great! It's really inexpensive so we go there all the time, and its just a fun place to hang out. The service is outstanding, and the people are such sweeties. Oh and the music, haha, it just adds to the atmosphere. The food is soooo goood. I will never get tired of it. Well, just wanted to say if you have not been there yet, go, go, go!

No Comparison... I'm Completely Serious
DESCRIPTION: A few years ago, I shadowed my older brother at his nearby high school, and like many seniors do, we skipped out for lunch. Having no idea where my brother was taking me, we drove for a few minutes until we had barely passed Greenville Tech. We then turned into the small parking lot belonging to the beloved Pita House. Since then, I have yet to find a better restaurant. Coming from Middle Eastern descent and having tasted most Middle Eastern dishes, I like to consider myself an addict to the Pita House. Their dishes are great. I usually order a gyro over hummus. This meaty and over-the-top filling meal (which costs a mere $6.31; trust me, it's worth it) is well accopanied by 4 falafel and a cup of the best sweetened ice tea out there. The newly-expanded restaurant now seats many, many more, and is still packed at lunch time. People come from every walk of life to enjoy some of the best and fastest cuisine in the Greenville area. The shawarma is excellent, a favorite of many of my friends (now Pita House addicts as well). The desserts are also amazing, my favorite being the Baklawa. On top of top-quality food, the service and atmosphere are great. The owners are extremely friendly and always greet you with a smile. They will be happy to help you with any searches you may have through the grocery area. The food, usually arriving within a few minutes, is hot and delicious, served with a variety of sauces to choose from. I love the Pita House, and go there many times a week, whether during or after school. Yes, it's just that good.

My Favorite for over 10 Years.
DESCRIPTION: This is truly a must try restaurant. The Middle Eastern Plate is unbelievable. It is the sample platter (if you will) It has hummus, tahini salad, chicken or beef shwarma, falafals, and pita bread to stuff it all in to or just eat it all separately. Either way, it's delicious! My wife and I are Pita House junkies. We go there at least 4 times a month. Try it...you'll love it.

Must-Try
DESCRIPTION: I discovered the Pita House in 1997 and it has stayed consistently at the top of my list of favorite restaurants in Greenville. The decor isn't fancy, but the food is incredible and I enjoy the middle eastern ambience (music, the grocery section) a lot. I concur that the iced tea here is a cut above. I prefer to eat vegetarian when veg. selections are offered, and my recommended dish reflects that.

I Drive 2 Hours Every Month to Eat There
DESCRIPTION: My wife and I go to Greenville every month to eat at the Pita House; oh yeah, and to see my parents. I couldn't find food this good even when I was in Little Jerusalem (Brooklyn) at Medders the famous kosher Mediterranean restaurant.

Mid-Eastern Deli items Are the Best
DESCRIPTION: If you cook Middle-eastern and need the ingredients, Pita-House has them. I was driving to Atlanta to get supplies and wasn't happy about that (after living in So. California and having many Persian and M-E groceries to choose from. And their pita bread made fresh daily...be sure to ask 'cause they keep it in the back. Thanks Ziad and family.

DESCRIPTION: This is the best restaurant that I have ever been to! I went in, was welcomed by there great staff, and was treated wonderfuly. I could not have expected better. The food was superb, and the service was excellent. Even though this is not a fancy place in any respect I would say this is now my favorite restaurant. When you go there you immersed in the culture of the Middle East and really do feel like you are in Israel. The grocery store that is in the restaurant is rich in varity, like nothing that you would find in the United States. This is a great restaurant and I would give The Pita House five stars.

2 Thumbs Up, Way Up
DESCRIPTION: The spices on the beef shawarma are perfect. Definitely the best meditation restaurant in town and perhaps all of the upstate. My favorite dish, the shawarma, whether chicken/beef comes with hummus, the Jerusalem salad, pita bread and let's not forget the Jerusalem pickles along with other vegetables on the side. The place is run by a wonderful friendly family. A must-try and once you visit it once you won t stop going there.

Fantastic Filafal and Heavenly Hummus
DESCRIPTION: Fantastic Filafal and Heavenly Hummus are just the beginning at this authentic lebanese cafe. A wide variety of other vegetarian dishes and deserts, as well as classic meat dishes like Gyros and Shawerma are on the menu. The spinach pies and and Tofu Masala pita are also fantastic. Seating inside and on a relaxing patio are both great, and don't forget to try the fresh lemonade and smoothies (Banana Milk and Honey is my favorite). Exceptional, flavorful
DESCRIPTION: I have been to Aladdin's many times, for take out and dine in and have always had a wonderful experience. Aladdin's is a family owned, small restaurant. Their food is exceptional, flavorful (lots of garlic) and reasonably priced. I love their appetizers, salad (with wonderful dressing), all of their chicken dishes, their grape leaves etc. I would recommend traveling to Silverdale just to eat here.

DESCRIPTION: My family goes to Aladdin's once or twice a year and always has an incredible experience. The food is wonderful but their greatest asset is their very accommodating manager who waits on tables himself. Best food in town
DESCRIPTION: Eating at Aladdin's Palace was an excellent experience. My family and I enjoyed everything from the food to the service. The hospitality was wonderful thanks to the staff at Aladdin's Palace. We were greeted by the kitchen staff as well as the serving staff, which gave us the feeling that we were at our own place. So keep up the good work and I recommend that everyone should try it out. It ends up being an addiction. Good recommendation is the House special and the Zahra appetizer.

A Fantastic Dining Experience
DESCRIPTION: As a man who has seen many cultural restaurants, this place in particular has had the greatest affect on me. Between the humble and accomodating staff, and the delectable cuisine this restaurant has exactly everything you would want for an exceptional meal with friends and family. Their culinary expertise is only matched by the hospitality that they employ in their staff, everything from the food and wine all the way to the presentability of the dining room is extraordinary. If you are tired of the norm and looking for something new and exotic, eat at this restaurant, I promise you it is truly a fine dining experience.

DESCRIPTION: Atmosphere, food, service, food, hospitality, did I mention the food? This place has it all. The owner and staff treat you like family. The service is great and the food is the best Mediterranean food I have ever had. The smell alone is enough to make you swoon. Portions are generous ans the selection is varied.
