Kabobs and dancers!
DESCRIPTION: I go back again and again for the filet mignon kabob dinner with a choice of several flavorful side dishes, Middle Eastern beer and the belly dancer who appears around 9pm Saturday nights. Don't forget the to-die-for pecan pie for dessert.

Worst Service Ever.
DESCRIPTION: Very dissappointed! While the food is good and decor is pleasant, the service was horrible. We were seated at 9.10 and besides giving us water, our server showed up at 9.40. The food came before the wine and hardly any apologies from the server. The place looked busy but if they can't handle the rush, don't have that many people in the restaurant. I asked for the server to leave the menu and he said they didn't have any to spare and would bring it by later which he never did. We had to ask other server for refill of water . Server didn't even offer dessert! All in all , its sad that I liked the food/the decor but never going back there and neither our my other 3 friends.

Seedy Arabic Restaurant - Unpretentious Fun
DESCRIPTION: Shalimar has been told to me by my Arabic friends -- I am Gori -- as a place where bad people go. HAH! It is by far the most fun Arabic place in DC. With a fun, friendly crowd which is uninterested in gossiping about you all night. All are welcome, Arab and non-Arab, and the best dancer in town puts on a skilled and fun show. You can't beat the live music, sheeshah (Arabic tobacco), Arabic hospitality, and the juice drinks. All this makes it my favorite after hours club. My date always pays so I don't know the prices! But a full Arabic menu is available - kabob, chicken, falafel, hummus.... Shalimar is known as the seediest Arabic place around, and that's why I like it. Secrets stay such when you leave the door. Come as you are! Bellydance show starts at 1am.

Always a good bet
DESCRIPTION: I've been to the restaurant 4 times and always been pleased. The atmosphere is nice, the prices are reasonable, and the food is consistently good.
