Cheap, fresh, fast and tasty
DESCRIPTION: There is no table servie which means that you can arrive, get your food and complete your meal in less than a 1/2 hour if necessary -- very convenient for a lunch break. The ingredients are all very fresh and there is an assorment of different hot suauces to choose from, if you like some heat with your tacos or fajitas. Fish or shrimp tacos are a healthy option, and the veggie tacos are also tasty with grilled vegetables, black beans and cheese -- gaucamole on the side.

Horrible Service
DESCRIPTION: After being seated and waiting ten minutes, we had to flag down a waiter for menus. Another 10-15 minutes pass, and we had to flag down a waiter again to take our order. He didn't even bother to ask if we would like something to drink, so we all just told him our dinner order. Two people in my party ordered soups, they had to ask for spoons for the soup. To our surprise the spoons were in the soup already! At this point we have not received our drinks yet. We thought they could not handle a party of 7, but a table next to us, which was a family of 3 had horrible service also, 2 out of the 3 got their dinners, and the third member got his dinner 20 minutes later. I have to say, the food is not bad. I don't know if I would go back.

A Nice Visit
DESCRIPTION: This on-the-corner open air and indoor restaurant may seem a bit on the small side, but the menu, service and amenities more than make up for it. A nice choice of meat and vegetable dishes are sure to please any mixed crowd. <P> I've had both lunch and dinner at El Meson's, but prefer the lazy summer early afternoon late lunch, which allows one to have a nice outdoor experience. The food is well prepared and fresh, and the service is above average for a restaurant of this kind. <P> One last note; the dining area is shared with a section of store front which allows one to purchase a variety of Mexican ingredients for cooking at home. (You don't have to dine in to purchase your avacados.) <P> So, overall, it gets two and a half stars. If you're in town and are looking for something different, give them a try.

DESCRIPTION: This is one of the best restaurants for authentic mexican food anywhere. The chips and salsa are hot and fresh, and the regular menu is all good, but the best thing here is on weekends, when the specials are available. This is gourmet at a reasonable price... and best of all, BYO.

The Best Mexican Restaurant Outside of Mexico
DESCRIPTION: If you're looking for a friendly casual place with awesome food and great prices, this is it. It's a perfect first date place. I never knew fajitas could be so awesome.

Even the basic dinner salad is delicious
DESCRIPTION: I have eaten here many times because I live in the area. The prices are right, and it's BYO, which I LOVE. The food is really great, really authentic and sized for any appetite. The clam appetizer with the salsa verde is worthy of sopping up every last drop with bread if you can get it. I'd eat two for a meal - and then jones for more! The basic dinner salad is not only very generous (it can pass as a meal for me) - but the dressing has a flavor that I find intoxicating, I just can't get enough of it, and it is also dressed with olives, and cheese, guacamole and sour cream. Note: They are often out of the most popular items on Sundays, so that is a let down. Cleanliness of tableware, etc. is a bit of an issue. But it is the best Mexican food around, hands down and won't leave you rwallet or your stomach flat.
