Med Deli....R.I.P
DESCRIPTION: There was once a time, not too long ago, when my friends and family looked forward to eating at Med Deli. Med Deli was a favorite of ours as well as a wealth of other Charlestonians alike for many, many years, however, the tables have turned abruptly. What was once considered a favorite is now considered a last resort (i.e. when grocery stores are non-existent). As many of you may know Med Deli is under new management, if you can even call it that. The once flavorful food is now insipid and the once delightful staff is, well, not so delightful. You'll have to bring your own paper and crayons since one of our beloved traditions is now kaput, but most notably is the change in atmosphere and management/ownership. Med Deli used to be a swinging place, it is now dull, the owners used to be warm, friendly people who were appreciative of your business, not anymore. I have never seen such horrible management in my life, I urge anyone who has fond memories of Med Deli to embrace them and never look back.....Med Deli is not the Med Deli you once knew and loved.

I love Med Deli!
DESCRIPTION: I've only been to Med Deli once, but I've wanted to go back ever since! From the food, to the service, to the overall atmosphere, it was incredible, and so affordable! I only wish there was one closer to my Tuscaloosa, Alabama home. If you go to Charleston, the Battery and the Plantations are gorgeous - but take some time out to go check out the Med Deli. It'll be well worth it!

Excellance in South Carolina
DESCRIPTION: This is the best place to eat in the Kiawah/Seabrook Island area. The food is fresh and the setting (when eating outside) is great. Service is excellent and the owner always has time to go from table to table to chat. Food presentation is top notch. Unusual items can be found on the menu from time to time. Only minor flaw is it can get loud from time to time, if there are large parties.

Newberry's Best Eatery!
DESCRIPTION: Without a doubt, Pharoah's Pizza is Newberry's best independent eatery. Located near the History Downtown area, Medhat (Matt) and crew provide exceptional service, value, and taste. Whether you're looking for Italian, fast food, pizza, Greek, or southern specialties, you'll find something on the extensive menu. Items are very reasonably priced and the food is always prepared to perfection. If you're lucky enough to have the chance to eat there regularly the extremely pleasant and fun staff will get to know you on a first name basis and will often have your favorite drink in hand when they come to take your order. Service is fast and friendly with a staff who make you feel welcome and like you're "part of the family." The style of the restaurant is simple with booths and tables and a separate non-smoking area. Egyptian art decorate the walls. The owner is usually on hand to greet patrons and often "makes the rounds" checking on customers and their meals. Should you ever have any complaint (which would be rare) Medhat will take care of it immediately... with a smile and apology. The prices are excellent for the quantity and quality of the food received. Without a doubt, Pharoah's is the place to stop in Newberry for great food.

Not such a hit anymore
DESCRIPTION: After eating at Davor's numerous times over the past year or so, we found our most recent dining experience less than enjoyable. The service has ALWAYS been a bit of an issue, but it is something those of our group of friends endured because they had such great food. The food over the past month or so hasn't been what we have come to expect. As one of my friends observed, it was like an inexperienced home cook had taken over the restaurant, and was doing things that they had very little understanding of. We and our friend have decided to wait until spring to go back, and wait for the patio to re-open, and give it another try. Until then , we'll be eating up the street at one of the better restaurants in Aiken.
