Groovy Atmosphere and Great Pizza!
DESCRIPTION: Angelo's has got to be THE grooviest pizza joint that I've been to! The decor is all original from the late 60's when it opened. Paneling on the walls, GROOVY stained glass, wrought iron light fixtures, and black-and-white TVs on the tables that run for a quarter. The pizza is one of the best I've eatn, the service is friendly and the price is right! Thumbs up to Angelos! Worth the trip!

DESCRIPTION: Panino's is one of my favorite restaurants. I get there as often as I can. All of their food is very fresh, and delicious. Their pasta's and pizzas are superb, but nothing tops their panino sandwich ! And there is something for every taste- barbecue, southwest, italian, veggie, etc. And if you go, make sure to order the homemade bread sticks, with a side of their ranch dressing as a dipper, you won't believe how amazing they are !

Panino's is a Great Family Place!
DESCRIPTION: Panino's is a great place for a family of five, like mine, or for a couple looking for a bite to eat. Every thing is reasonably priced. I have never had such wonderful service. The panino sandwiches are only to be found here which make it one of a kind.

RECOMMENDED DISHES : The buffalo chicken is a favorite to many. I enjoy the ranch and veggie panino's personally. If you are in the mood for spaghetti, come in on a Monday night because you can have all you can eat spaghetti for just $4.95 plus tax and it comes with a salad and garlic bread. YUM YUM YUM!!!

PANINO'S SERVICE IS TERRIBLE
DESCRIPTION: My wife and I went to Panino's on friday May 16. We had about a 20 minute wait to be seated (which was expected). We sat down and ordered. We ordered and that is when things started or did not start to happen. We got an appetizer of their fries and some water. We sat and waited. Our waitress came around every ten minutes or so to tell us our food will be right up. It never arrived. Meanwhile, other people who were seated after us started getting their food. After 40 minutes, we asked the waitress to get the Manager. The Manager came over about 10 minutes later to review what we ordered. She said it would be right up. There was no apology for what was going on and no real concern for our needs. Another 10 minutes went by and we asked for our check because we wanted to leave. The waitress went to get the Manager. The Manager never came back. Instead, she sent a young girl over to say that we did not have to pay for our appetizers and water. We left. The Management and staff was not very concerned that we had to wait an hour. The place was not that busy. We had to wait 20 minutes to be seated where there was open tables. Throughout our time we noticed people having to wait with tables available. This was one of the worst places I have ever been in regards to service and Management paying attention to its customers.

Panino's is a great place to eat!
DESCRIPTION: This is in regards to the review "Panino's service is terrible". I am honestly in shock that anyone would write something as ridiculous as this! I have been going to Paninos for over 4 years and know that something like this would not happen,especially so recently... they have some of the best staff working that it makes it such a pleasure to come and eat. The staff is always friendly and I have gotten to know a lot of them.

Usually Excellent
DESCRIPTION: ... but sometimes it is absolutely horrible. I have eaten at Panino's probably 50+ times. I work about 3 miles away and live about 4. I would consider myself a regular. Here's the lowdown, out of 10 times you go, for whatever reason, one of those experiences will absolutely be horrific. I have had to wait an hour for my food before. I have had the waitress put the wrong order in for our table. I have had some terrible Panino's. But...when Panino's is on, it is fantastic. I am not sure why Chet's crew can't get more consistent...I actually did not dine there for about 12 months after having an appalling experience, but returned to have one of their wonderful Panino's. I just don't know what it is. I highly recommend the Spaghetti Pie Panino, Big Bopper or Chicken Cheddar. Their pizza is also excellent...I recommend getting their meatballs too.

A step up from Italian chain restaurant
DESCRIPTION: Salads are very good, bread service is excellent. Entrees are mostly good, though some meat entrees were bland. (Though seared ahi on wasabi mashed potatoes seemed out of place on an Italian menu, it was done better than many seafood places.) Restaurant is very loud--hard to hear dinner companions over the roar of the place.

SUBURBIA IN THE CITY; IT SUCKS
DESCRIPTION: Just what we've all been waiting for - a chain-suburban restaurant in the city. For the same $20, I can get some four- to five-star cuisine at Barbette across the street or Lucia's around the corner. Instead, I get an oversauced salad out of a bag (except for the sliced mango and apple), soup made from package tortellini and canned chicken broth that would have taken me two seconds to make at home, and a waitress calling me "darling." It's telling when the staff is eating their lunch (Brueggers Bagels) at the bar! Hell, they won't even eat their own food. The restaurant's ONE AND ONLY saving grace is the half-price bottles of wine on Sundays, Mondays and Tuesdays. Otherwise, the soup and salad at Brueggers is a much better deal. So, perhaps the staff was on the mark. The people who like this place and call it "gourmet" (?!?!) must have had their palates refined at the likes of the Olive Garden, TGIFridays or, most likely, Old Country Buffet.

love this place!
DESCRIPTION: Ok I have to correct the reviewer who calls him/herself Torchy. I eat at Amore 2 or three times a week, and have gotten to know the chefs quite well. The main chef is the owner--I don't think you would find this at a chain. Their pastry chef, Roberto, is a baker from Rome, Italy who orders fresh produce daily, including spring greens, romaine, and arugula, and bakes the bread from scratch. I know because he lives next door to me. Also, this is one of the only places in uptown where everything IS made from scratch. The soups are made fresh everyday and they take hours. I would recommend all diners take a tour of their kitchen--it's amazing how much prep these chefs do in one single day, simply because the food IS made from scratch. I think Barbette is a great restaurant as well. Even their chef is impressed by the amount of work that goes into the dishes there. The ambiance is the best in uptown-and the chef/owner did all the work himself. Gary
