DESCRIPTION: I've tried several dishes at Frank's. Everything there is great. Friday and Saturday they draw a huge crowd. Roberta, I believe is part owner, keeps the mood of the place great and her waitresses happy - which keep the customers happy. The price is comparable to the same atmosphere and quality you would find in Atlanta. Sometimes the wait for the food used to drag on for eons, but I believe they have that under control.

BEST GREEK SALAD SOUTH OF COLLEGE PARK
DESCRIPTION: If you live on the South side of Atlanta, are serious about really good food at really fair prices, and don't mind seriously skimping on the atmoshpere, then Frank's Famous Family Restaurant is just the spot for you! The food is excellent, the portions are generous and the prices are very reasonable. When one pulls into Frank's "too small" parking lot, it becomes quite obvious that it is the delicious food that keeps the faithful returning to Franks, and not Frank's "ambiance" or "atmosphere". At first glance, one might believe they are being taken to eat at a local "quickie mart" until the entrance of Frank's comes into view - then a truck stop seems more the appropriate thought. The wait at Frank's door can be up to an hour or more on Fridays and Saturdays. With very little area set aside as a waiting room, it seems everyone mills around the door, cash register and right outside the entrance way. This does not make for a "pleasant wait", and therefore "call ahead" seating is seriously recommended. Unfortunately, even after one has been seated, it takes a few moments to get past the hungry stares of those who are left waiting at the door with nothing better to do than stare at you, but once one is handed a menu the real joy of Frank's begins to come into focus. The menu is extensive for what appears to be a "small place in the middle of nowhere". The Greek salad is known all over town and is recommended if you are seeking something light. The pasta dishes and the prime rib will satisfy a heartier appetite. Once the food arrives and one begins eating, the wait at the door and the stares of the hungry "yet-to-be-seated" are quickly forgotten. For those visiting from out-of-town or from the ATL, Frank's should be a MUST. It reminds them that great food doesn't have to cost a week's pay and can be found in some of the most unusual places!
