My favorite Beaumont restaurant.
DESCRIPTION: If you haven't eaten a meal at Carlo's you're missing out. It is undoubtedly the best food in Beaumont, and some of the best food I've had anywhere. The menu is unlike anything else in Beaumont. The atmosphere is perfect for a date or an evening among friends. The entertainment is enjoyable. The service top notch. The meals are superb. The wine and drink list is extensive. Treat yourself to a night at Carlo's, you won't regret it.

Americana Diner Growing...
DESCRIPTION: Quite a nice diner. The decor is really great. The servers are friendly and helpful. The lounge is very cool. The food could use a little work, there was a lot of variety, but it lacked a little in the taste department. All in all it was a very good experience.

Americana Diner & Restaurant
DESCRIPTION: Several weeks ago I visited and there was no Sweet and Low. When I complained the very unpleasnt old blonde at the register told me "the order would be in later". Although there is a Shop Rite within walking distance to go and buy the Sweet and Low would have been too much trouble I guess. <P> Yesterday I went for lunch. I ordered a Turkey Club Salad (a basic salad with turkey). The waitress brought soup bread and a beverage and informed me that they were out of the salad. I took the check for the tea and went to the register. When I complained to the grumpy old blonde I was told, "It was a special and we're out". Obviously I was annoying her. As I went out the door One of the employees said, "Good Riddance" <P> Great dining experience. I'll never go back nor will anyone in my office in East windsor..

Change in menu a bad idea
DESCRIPTION: We went to the diner today for lunch as we often do and were dismayed at the new menu. Gone is the lunch menu. he new menu is a dinner menu with asterisks next to those items available as "lunch portions". Prices were not given for the lunch portions but at the bottom of the page was a range of prices. <P> This is a poor idea for a menu. It took us 5 minutes to figure out that this was the lunch menu and then we had to look for the asterisks and would have had to ask the waitress for the prices. <P> It also seems as if there wasn't much available for lunch and that the prices had gone up considerabley since we were last there. We walked out without ordering and don't intend to go back. Ordering should be simple, not complicate

Don't Bother!!
DESCRIPTION: My wife and I had stopped in for breakfast. Our orders where all screwed up. When I made mention of it, they apologized and they stated it is a busy morning. Oh well, get your act together. Buy the time we had received the correct order it was barely warm enough to eat. What I saw on other individuals plates wasn't that great. We just had our coffee and left. We will never go there again. If they want to stay in business they better shape up and give their meals a creative look.

DESCRIPTION: After reading some of these posts, I was really surprised. Every restaurant has it's occasional flaws but typically at the Americana they are eager to work them out. My husband & I are there often during the week as well as on weekends, with kids in tow as well as without. For the ambiance of a place known as a "Diner" it surpasses many local restaurants. As for the menu it also surpasses any Diner in NY or NJ for taste as well as presentation.

THE BEST DINER EVER!!!
DESCRIPTION: I have eaten at the Americana Diner many times. Most of the time I get breakfast food, so I can't say much about their lunches and dinners, though I have gotten take out dinners a few times and I have a friend who eats lunch and dinner there regularly with no complaints. Compared to other diner-style restaurants, the Americana is in a class by itself. The omlettes are OUTSTANDING. A tremendous amount of care goes into every detail. For example, if you get tomatoes in your omlette, they are careful to cut the tomatoes into small pieces and you don't get any unwanted tomato pulp/seeds. They only give you the good part of the tomato. The menu selection is both vast and multifarious. The coffee is always fresh and hot. The cinnaman swirl French toast is heavenly. The corned beef hash is bliss. The blueberry pancakes contain real, fresh blueberries. Although some of the servers are not overtly friendly, they are always efficient, thoughtful, attentive, and professional. I am not embarrassed to say that some of the most enjoyable food experiences I have ever had took place at the Americana.

DESCRIPTION: When still in high school, my friends and I always found ourselves going to the Americana during the weekend and most weekdays in the summer. DESCRIPTION: I have been to the Americana Diner a few times, each time for breakfast. I don't know what was wrong with some of these people who posted negatively, but each time I have gone, I have had good service, good food, and nothing was screwed up. We sat and ate at our leisure, and the waitress/waiter was always kind, as well as the cashier. Some people are just a little too up-tight and need to realize that every resteraunt has its problems, and you cant always expect them to have EVERYTHING.

DESCRIPTION: Mt friend, a nurse from Lansing Michigan, came to visit and we had our first meal at the Americana. After that she kept asking to eat at "that great diner." No matter where in Mercer County we were, she wanted to head to Hightstown. My daughter who is 10 got a strip steak. I didn't expect much, and told her so -- but it was really fine, quite good actually. Staff is swell, portions generous, decor is cool... hey whaddaya want? Ice in the urinals?

The best pancakes I've ever had
DESCRIPTION: I love Americana so much that I've deemed it "my diner". The food is great, the service is superb and the atmosphere is wonderful. It's a great place to go after a movie, or clubbing. Their buffalo tenders are really good too, not to mention the carrot cake. The first time there I had a slice, the second time I left with a whole cake. Delicious. I'd recommend it to anyone. You don't come across many diners that can make great pancakes. I'm so glad I took a chance at Americana, they were the best pancakes. Orgasmic almost.

Greek flavor, midwest hospitality
DESCRIPTION: This Cedar Rapids institution tops our list in a town laden with characterless chain restaurants. This family owned and operated establishment livens up any visit to the C.R. area with brilliantly prepared and beautifully plated Mediterranean dishes. We love to start with the Saganaki, served flaming. Opa! When dining with a larger party, we indulge in the Captain's Dish which includes appetizer sized portions of some of the finest Greek dishes on the menu. Many visits ago, I lost my heart to the Spanakopita, a light flaky filo pastry layered with spinach and feta cheese. Also worth noting are the midwestern staples like the Beef Tenderloin and Iowa Chop. We seldom save room for dessert but for real indulgence, don't skip the Baclava. The wine list is sufficient and has been upgraded recently to include some nicely priced Chards, Merlots, and Cabs. The bar serves marvelous martinis which are discounted on Thursday evenings. The staff are knowledgable and courteous though on busy weekend nights, they are sometimes stretched a bit thin. The Gyro Meat entree has been sometimes superb, sometimes sub-par and we have learned not to take the chance but overall, it would be unfair to say that we have ever been seriously disappointed in this lovely little restaurant.

Mind Blowing
DESCRIPTION: Eat at this establishment immediately. The rustic yet contemporary decor makes for a good place to kick back and savor what is to come. I wound up in a hotel next to this restaurant on a business trip. I had the lamb gyro. Throw the rule book out the window folks, this place will blow your mind. Thick slices of lamb cooked to perfection with grilled sweet onions, lettuce, tomatoes and Taziki sauce wrapped neatly so you don't make a mess. After you take your first bite, take a moment to thank your God for finding this place. I'd take a date to this place. I'd take my Mom to this place. Service is so warm & friendly you'd swear you were home. Go now.

Never expected this in Seward
DESCRIPTION: Theres both an Apollo I and an Apollo II. Walking in feels very Greek like. The menu reminds me of your typical NY Greek Diner but without the pastry/cookie case in the front. The menu is very diverse, surf, turf, pasta, greek specialities. All of it has been good. The pizza sauce is a little too peppery for my taste. The Apollo changed hands this past year so I dont know what plans the new owners have for the resturant. See the other location for takeout near the Small Boat Harbor.

An incredible place to go

Not quite up to most diners
DESCRIPTION: After eating out at a few diners, recently we went to Adelphia expecting a special treat. Well, what we got was not. I suggest not ordering any meats or foods that may be dangerous if poorly handled or prepared. Do not look into the kitchen if you want to finish your meal. We said hello to the hostess, then shuffled to our seats and ordered. The waitress was exceptional and professional. The food came out very fast which was nice as we were hungry. Maybe to fast, because it taked like convection oven prepackaged food. It was at best unsettling. If you like hearing kitchen help being berated in Greek and Spanish this is the place for you. PS: The urine odor did stop us from finishing our meal so this critique may be biased.

Major hype over nothing
DESCRIPTION: After hearing great things about Adelphia we decided to eat there. It was not tragic, the place looked nice but the food is was on the lower end of even casino cafeteria food. Friday Nite out
DESCRIPTION: It was a friday nite, April 8th 2005 to be exact. It was a group of 10. It was my Brother-in-law's birthday. He had no clue what we had prepared for him. Dinner reservation was for 7:30-8pm. Our table was not ready but it was OK. The place was busy and we understand. So we stood at the bar drinking. When we arrived at the table our waitress wasn't too cool. She did not introduce herself. She had this nasty face on her. Some silverware was set on some tables, but not on others. I can say the food was awesome. All of us enjoyed our meals, and we had a good time. I would say if they had better waitresses who were not so grumpy and didn't make a nasty face and didn't forget some of our meal, it would be better. but other than that it was really good.

Saturday night date
DESCRIPTION: I went to Adelphia's this past Saturday night on a date with my husbnad. We had such a great time! The waitresses and the bartenders were excellent even though they were extremely busy.
