A Boulder County Tradition
DESCRIPTION: Upon entering the premises of this Boulder county tradition, you are greeted by the ebullient German host, Andrea Liermann. Andrea s personal touch is what has made this restaurant special since 1977. The establishment is fashioned in the style of old Bavarian hunting lodges lots of wood and animal trophies adorn the walls. The burning fire in the corner and cozy warm atmosphere floods over you as you prepare yourself to order. Andrea s kitchen is known for its fresh and natural cooking. Everything is made from scratch. Most of the German dishes, brought directly over from the family estate, use recipes that have been followed for many generation. Along with the old world classics, Andrea s serves an appetizing variety of dishes. Her chefs have a wide range of lighter and healthier menu items that support and compliment the more traditional dishes. On most weekends there is live old country-stlye music, and a favorite to always keep in mind are the three weekends of Oktoberfest in the fall. Come to Andrea s and experience her lighter touch in European and American cuisine.

DESCRIPTION: Its everything you'd expect in a nice German restaurant (though I think the folks that run it are actually Czech) - its spotlessly clean, the service is friendly and efficient and the food is truly delicious. The building isn't ultra-fancy outside (it was a Pizza Hut long ago), but the way they have decorated it gives you the feeling that you've stepped into Europe.

Far, Far Short of Expectations
DESCRIPTION: A long wait for a reserved party of six, the waiter's bad pronounciation of the menu items, flimsy paper napkins, totally inappropriate glassware for Weizenbier, and, on top of all of that, shameless misadvertising (0,4L of draft beer does not equal 16 fl. oz. of draft beer!) left this diner totally underwhelmed. Dining options abound in the Denver/Boulder area. Golden Europe's all-beige cuisine requires that punctuality, accuracy, and even a touch of elegance accompany the dining experience. Without these, the owners of this restaurant cannot hope to attract an enthusiastic, discerning clientele.

DESCRIPTION: This is an exception. The service is sometimes slow, the accoutrements are not top notch, the beer selection including draught is more than adequate, but the food is as good as it gets. Come hungry. I miss it living in PA now. The ONLY restaurant I miss in the whole state of Colorado. (An old Chicago boy)

Great Off-The-Beaten-Path Alternative To Fast Food Franchises
DESCRIPTION: This great little place is located near a park in Evans,Colorado (SouthEastern part of Greeley). The krautburger is a rectangular roll stuffed with hamburger, cabbage, onions, and spices. They are available with cheese or jalapenos. An excellent alternative to burger and fries from Wendys, Burger King, and McDonalds that will have you coming back again and again.
