Childhood isn't cheap
DESCRIPTION: Really need a good hit of elementary school nostalgia? Then go to this restaurant, where you'll be happily served a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, with the crusts cut off if you want, and a glass of chocolate milk, for $8. Each time I've gone, the pricing takes me aback. Everything's good; the peanut butter is freshly made, everything's fresh, but come on! $5-$6 for a PB&J is a little drastic. However, the Elvis is a fine fried peanut-butter and banana sandwich, and more or less worth it. The peanut butter BLT is a dud; the flavors just don't work. It's a very cheery place, and a fun place to unwind with a bunch of people, but it's just a little too precious, ya know?

Don't Be Fooled
DESCRIPTION: You spot the sign from at least a block away and you think-hamburgers and fries-that is if you're clueless to the infamous name B-Bar and Grill, as I was when I first moved here. Then, you walk in and realize, even if they sell hamburgers you won't be caught dead ordering one amongst a crowd like this! No, I'm exaggerating. The food is great, the service is great, and the atmosphere is very positive, fun, and lively. If you're a tourist you truly get a sense of the city. If you live here, you know why you chose New York.

worst service ever!!!!
DESCRIPTION: My husband and I purchased tickets to a play which included a free prefix meal at B Bar and Grill. We made reservations and informed them of the offer like we were told. When we arrived they had our reservation, but were not aware of the free meal. Still, they sat us and made us wait for over 20 minutes for a waitress. Mind you, the restaurant was empty!!! When we presented them with the coupon they told us it was a misprint and we had to pay. They then handed us the prefix menu. The discount was $25 for a hamburger or a sandwich!!! When the owner came to our table to 'clear up' the probelm, he argued with us and "refused" to honor the coupon. He is a horrible business person. I would never suggest anyone to eat there!

Great Sounds
DESCRIPTION: I was lucky enough to stop by Caffe Vivaldi - where the service was not only pleasant, but the women working were beautiful. Also, I was able to listen to the wonderful sounds from Aileen Morgan. If you haven't heard of her yet, you will! cheers Caffe Vivaldi!

DESCRIPTION: I went there with my girlfriend and a friend of mine visiting from out of town. I ordered a veal dish that I cannot remember the name of. It was topped with so many diced vegetables that I thought thats all I was getting. Underneath the vegetables was this small piece of veal. The dish tasted good, however it was a bit misleading. My girlfriend ordered a simple penne with marinara dish. The pasta was undercooked and the sauce was watery. My friend ordered a margherita pizza and he said it was very good. He had no complaints. The decor was pretty good. It was a bit dark, but overall it was decent.

DESCRIPTION: I was visiting my best friend in N.Y. City and she take s me to that wonderfull place. There s I could taste the best dessert ever!! The warm chocolate cake, is delicious, superb!! The enviroment it s so cool, I have the best memories of that great place.

DESCRIPTION: Took a friend there...my truffle veggie pasta dish was excellent but my friend's shrimp and artichoke dish in tomato sauce was extremely acidic and salty-so much so that he couldn't eat more than half. My wine was great- his drink was very weak. Ah well. Even if only half the food was good the atmosphere is groovy-chic and lighting excellent if you are a woman in your late thirties dating a man who is a little too young for you.

Comforting
DESCRIPTION: After a depressing day of shopping this was a delightful find. My niece had a margherita pizza which was delicious. I had a spinach salad that was a little simple, but good. Great, friendly service. Reasonable prices. Next time in New York will definitely go again.

The finest
DESCRIPTION: We arrived at the reservsation time and was seated immediately. (I appreciated that we did not have to wait) The staff was very friendly and not pushy. We were not rushed through the meal. Since we wanted to try many dishes, the Executive Chef, Joe Ciminera, suggested a 6 course tasting. We left it to his discretion. It was OUTSTANDING. The selections were seasoned perfectly. I strongly suggest that this is a great way to get an "flavor" of many dishes. The dining room staff was great. They were polite, courteous, and they did not rush you through the meal. We had a table by the window overlooking the beach. It was magnificient watching the sunset. I definately will go back many times.

A guest chef series
DESCRIPTION: My husband and I dined at the Pine Island Grill for the very first time on Friday while the restaurant was offering a tasting menu. We have been reading alot of information on a new celebrity chef Joe Ciminera that has taken over rein. We dine out at some of the best restaurants in New York City. The meal was amazing- The chef has some real talent. I would reccomend this restaurant to anyone. Keep in mind you will spend$$ but it's worth every penny

A Celebrity Chef at Work!
DESCRIPTION: I have been following chef Joe for years, I am a real foodie and I know a thing or two about food. I was really impressed at the Guest Chef Series with Chef Joe and Anthony Cinicola from Le Cirque . The Duo Team cooked the best meal I have ever tasted. My wife and I even compared it to some of the great restaurants in France.

The Italian Wonton
DESCRIPTION: I dined at the Pine Island Grill with my girlfriend on Sunday. I had the Italian Wonton I figured if it's Howard Sterns favorite Dish, I should try it (so I did)I was quite pleased with the dish that I asked for another as a doggy bag. The restuarant has come along way since the new chef Joe Ciminerra has taken over the kitchen.

Too good to be true
DESCRIPTION: I dined at the Pine Island Grill last Weds because I heard Chef Joe Ciminera was the new executive chef. Boy, I'm glad I went , I was not disapointed. I asked the waitress if the chef would do a tasting menu. He agreed and send out "The Little red riding hood salad". The name was a little out there but the salad arrived with a scrumpious duck pate on it. I could write about the meal all night. The hostess was very pleasant and made you feel very comfotable when you walked in. For a wonderful view before the meal go upstairs at the piano bar.

Chef Joseph Ciminera is Indeed a Great Chef.
DESCRIPTION: What was the hype about this Chef? I had to find out. I am a food writer for a Boston magazine. I took the trip to New York and experience a very satifying meal. I happen to be a fan of the chefs cooking show called "Taste This". I asked to see him and he came out and bought us a dinner drink. The food was fabulous.

Taste Sensation Up the Wazoo.
DESCRIPTION: Wow! Talk about flavor in the month - Februlicious! When I heard the news in the yard about Joe C setting up shop at Pine Valley Grill - I decided it was worth the wait and grabbed a date, my wife, for an evening of fine fun and food. Joe even made an appearance and suggested his Special Taste Extra Value Menu - then complemented my date nicely and later even personally handed us the bill. Beware, it's a wee pricey but amazingly worth it, even if it's just once a year and the kids have to sweat it out at aunt Bea's for a while. Definitely worth the money and the decorum is irresistibly charming.

Chef Joseph Ciminera has left the Pine Island Grill
DESCRIPTION: Boy, we noticed that chef Joseph Ciinera left two weeks ago! My wife an I were looking forward to our meal at the Pine Island Grill which was chef Joe's playground. As soon as we recieved our appetizers we knew something was wrong. When I asked the waitress if Chef Joe was still there she told me he had left two months ago. It was quite disturbing because the restaurant never posted any info of him leaving, he was on the web site etc. Well, I guess these great chefs are always on the move.
