Woodsides Best, the Peninsula's Finest
DESCRIPTION: My wife and I eat out a great deal, but somehow had managed to miss going to John Bentley's. Now after six years we made it, and could not be more pleased with our dining experience. The service was both friendly and gracious, the atmosphere rustic and first class combined, and the food (Oh, the food!) was heavenly! My wife started with grilled artichoke with sun-dried tomato aioli, while I had an amazing vegetable Napoleon with portabello mushrooms, roasted red peppers, spinach, and apple. The main courses were true works of art. The grilled salmon in a reduced port sauce on a bed of garlic spinach was what my wife chose and I had the seared scallops with a smoky mash of purple potatoes and a saffron scented broth. The wine was a very good bottle of Stag's Leap Petit Syrah (It was reasonably priced as well). For dessert she had the warm chocolate souffle cake, I devoured part of that along with a very simple and extremely tasty apple tart in a puff pastry. I can only say that we will be returning often to this most wonderful of restaurants in the sleepy little town of Woodside.

Great Birthday Dinner at John Bentley's
DESCRIPTION: My husband and I had a great time at this restaurant. The service was great and the food was even better. You must try the lamb, it's not to be missed. There is eggplant spread that comes with the bread instead of butter. At first, I thought I wouldn't like it but I ended up really enjoying it. The chocolate cake was fabulous, I recommend sharing it because it's so rich! Overall, I really enjoyed this restaurant and would recommend it to my friends. I would also comment that you could wear a suit if you like, but a dressy casual look is good. I even saw people in jeans which was a little disappointing but to be expected.

What a jewel!
DESCRIPTION: Dined at the Dharma Cafe on a recommendation from a friend. This is one of Houston's treasures in the field of dining. Small, quaint setting in an old warehouse building and the atmosphere is intimate and warm. Service was great and the food was even better. Reservations recommended. This charming and delightfully cozy restaurant is a welcome relief from the usual Houston churn and burn establishments. Dharma Cafe is fresh food, great ambiance, and delightfully charming from the beginning to the end. A must visit !

Supurbe Dining
DESCRIPTION: WOW - best food I have had. Mostly American fare but with some elegant continental touches. Those familiar with the Common Grill in Chelsea - this (Daryl's) restaurant is owned by the once head chef at Common Grill. The dinner rolls alone are worth going here for.

Excellence in Dining
DESCRIPTION: A wonderful, attentive staff in a comfortable atmosphere. I haven't found anything on the menu that I have not liked. Daryll offers some fantastic New Orleans dishes and an awesome fresh fish menu.

NEVER A BAD MEAL!!!
DESCRIPTION: I've been to Spargo's a few times. I have never had a bad meal. The service always top notch. It's hard to list one dish that I would recommend, because I have always ordered the evening special. But,I will highly recommend the Ceasar Salad. The dressing is "WOW" my tastebuds are watering as I write. It's that good. I've referred others, who also rave about the food. I had driven by the resturant a number of times, not realizing it was there. It is located in a strip mall, and unless you know where you are going, you would drive right by it. Great resturant.

My new favorite restaurant!
DESCRIPTION: I absolutely LOVE Temple Grill. The atmostphere is warm and always buzzing, even late on a Wednesday evening. The host is fabulous and will do whatever he can to accommodate you. The waitstaff could use some work, like being more efficient in service and losing the know-it-all attitude, but this isn't bad enough so as not to try Temple Grill. The food is absolutely outstanding - try the Baja Shrimp Wrap, with huge, tender rock shrimp, pico de gallo and jack cheese or the Grilled Ahi Tuna wrap - you can even build your own! The wine and beer lists gave a good variety. And lastly, but most importantly, the prices are outstanding. From the complimentary homemade chips served before dinner to the Swedish fish delivered with the check, the price is worth every penny - even for a hardworking twenty-something or a penniless college student. I love Temple Grill.
