"Sole a La Catalane" from Caribbean Delight, Adelphi, MD
4 md Tomatoes, rips 14 tb Butter, unsalted, cut into pieces, plus more as needed 4 sm Onion, white, thinly sliced 2 tb Shallot, finely chopped 2 ea Sole, fillets, (about 6 ounces each), split lengthwise 1/2 c Wine, white, dry 1 tb Parsley, chopped 1 tb Chives, fresh, chopped Preheat the oven to 300 F. Carefully cut the out core of each tomato, removing a small, narrow plug and leaving the tomato intact. Blanch the tomatoes in boiling water for a few seconds; drain under cold water and slip off their skins. Cut a lid from the smooth bottom of each tomato (opposite the core) and set aside. With a melon scoop or spoon, carefully hollow out the pulp and seeds from the tomatoes, leaving a neat shell. Place the tomatoes and their lids in a small buttered baking dish, sprinkle with salt and pepper, set aside. In a small skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of butter and saute the sliced onions over medium heat until softened but not browned, 5 to 7 minutes. Spoon cooked onions into the hollowed tomatoes, dividing evenly. On a work surface, gently flatten the sole fillets, tapping them with the side of a wide knife blade. Carefully roll up each fillet, beginning with the small (tail) end and with the smooth, shiny skinned surface on the inside. Lightly butter a heat proof shallow baking dish in which the fillets will fit compactly. Scatter shallot into the dish, then arrange rolled fish fillets over shallot. Salt and pepper the fish lightly and pour wine over all. Cover the dish with buttered parchment or waxed paper, buttered side down. Place the pan over medium heat and bring almost to a boil. Place the pan of fish and the pan of tomatoes in the oven. Bake until fillets are just cooked through, 6 to 8 minutes. DO NOT OVERCOOK. Remove the pans from the oven. With a slotted spatula, lift each fillet, draining all of the liquid back into the pan, and place each fillet upright in a tomato. Place the pan of fish cooking liquid over high heat and boil the liquid until it's reduced to a few tablespoons of syrupy liquid. Reduce the heat to very low. Whisk in the remaining 12 tablespoons of butter, 1 or 2 pieces at a time, adding more only when the previous addition has become creamy and smooth. Strain this sauce into a small bowl, stir in the parsley and chives and season to taste with salt and pepper. Place each stuffed tomato on a warm serving plate. Spoon some of the sauce over each fillet and around each tomato. Gently replace the lids and serve immediately. Nothing can compare
DESCRIPTION: I drive all the way from Woodbridge, Virginia at least 1 to 2 times per week for the delightful tastes of Caribbean food at Caribbean Delight. Each time I take a least one other (if not a returning slew of) friends that I have taken in the past. Would definitely recommend to anyone who enjoys Caribbean food. I have been to several metropolitan area Caribbean restaraunts, none can compare. In fact, I have given up trying to find a place closer to my home that is just as good and it turns out always to be a let down. If I can't have Caribbean Delight, don't feed me Caribbean food

DESCRIPTION: My boyfriend and I ate at this restaurant on Saturday July 12, 2003. He was wearing a T-shirt with cut off sleeves and as we stood waiting to be seated we were approached by one of the waiters and he told him that there was a dress code. So he couldn't wear his T-shirt because it wasn't allowed in the restaurant's dress code. He was offered a brand new T-shirt to wear by the waiter (which was cool). The only thing I didn't like was that there were no signs posted outside or the inside of the entrance to the restaurant notifying customers of the restaurant's dress code so we were totally caught off guard. I think that the restaurant owner needs to post a sign informing all customers of the dress code so that this type of thing won't happen again. <P>Thanks Miss Dickenso

Never Again
DESCRIPTION: I had their house specialty today - slow roasted pork. There was very little pork and what there was was fatty, gristly, or tough. (It was served with a serated knife.) At $12.99 for lunch, I wish I had gone across the street to Ambrosia or further up the Pike to Kuzine or Fontina Grill.

Always a Treat
DESCRIPTION: I've been going to the Cuban Corner for about ten years now. I try to make it into Rockville at least every six months and I always stop there on my way home for a cuban sandwich and a side of fried yuca. The service is always friendly, though the restaurant is usually packed and busy. I've had ropa vieja and black beans and rice there also. The food is always good.

First and Last time at Last Mango
DESCRIPTION: Unfortunately, this restaurant's rather attractive and unique open-air setting is its best feature. Our visit was marred by a dirty table, slow service, and just terrible food. Our shrimp appetizer promising fresh jumbo shrimp instead delivered medium, half-done (read: microwaved), tough, tastless and wholly inedible shrimp cocktail. Our entrees were bland and greasy, and even the beer was warm. For 20 somethings who might be satisfied with very mediocre bar-quality food, this might be a fair place to start a Saturday night. Credit Card Overcharges
DESCRIPTION: At the beginning of the evening, my son gave his credit card number to start a tab but later paid in cash. He discovered a few days later they also charged his card. The manager would not return his repeated phone calls after he asked that they correct the situation. Said they were too busy to talk to him. He filed a claim with his credit card company to remove the charge. They were definitely not interested in helping correct the situation. Worst Sunday Brunch Experience Ever!
DESCRIPTION: Were told noon to 1pm were their busiest times. Wow. We were the only 6 people there. Service was the worst I have ever experienced. WHen we checked about the French toast, we were told it was thick like the menu said. Not only was it standard white bread, it came our cold (like it had been frozen, and greasy. The 1st time I have EVER sent a dish back. The waitress was no where to be found and would take 5 minutes to bring coffee, while forgetting the milk etc. The other entrees were bland, mediocre and boring. I can't imagine how this place stays open except for a night bar scene. HORRIBLE! (It is also dirty all around) UGH
