"Biscuits Supreme" from The Supreme Court Cafeteria, Washington, DC
2 c flour 4 ts baking powder 1/2 ts salt 1/2 ts cream of tartar 2 ts sugar 1/2 c shortening 2/3 c milk Mix dry ingredients. Cut in shortening till crumbly. Add milk at once. Stir quickly with fork till dough follows fork around bowl. Knead on lightly floured surface 10 12 strokes. Roll or pat 1/2 inch thick. Cut biscuits. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet for 10 12 minutes in 450' oven
