DESCRIPTION: Took my mother here today for lunch. Both of us had the baked haddock. Huge portion and so fresh. Mom had the clam chowder which she said was very, very delicious. Service was terrific. Always filling coffee cup. Brought homemade rolls to table. Will definitely return. Very clean inside. Cozy and warm atmosphere.

What I know.
DESCRIPTION: This is a great restaurant to eat at. You get so much food on your plate, that when you get done eating, you practically have to be carried out of the restaurant because you are so full. And the service is great, they are very nice and pleasant to you, they act like your their next door neighbor. It is a great place to take your family to. If you have a big party coming up, they will cater it, they have big steam bars they bring if it is a lot of people. I've heard they catered OG&E before. Like I said this is a great place to eat at. By the way, please tip the waiters.

Bagman BBQ - make a mental note
DESCRIPTION: The word around town was not very favorable when I asked acquaintances about Bagman's BBQ. I attributed the unkind words to the new restaurant's growing pains, but even after several months the opinions seemed to remain unchanged. The online definitions that are available for "bagman" are initially not very flattering either: traveling salesman is probably the nicest of all. Yet the restaurant does not appear to be a place for traveling salesmen, much less for a tramp or a racketeer. So why the name? I make a mental note to ask next time I'm in. For now, I admire the nicely decorated interior where wooden picnic benches and dinner tables gather around a beautiful, centrally located, stone fireplace. In one corner is a children's play area, and further down the corridor a game room with pool, darts and video games. I make another mental note to investigate that area next time as well. In the meantime, it's my turn to make a choice from the menu. The menu is extensive, covering sandwiches (pork, chicken, beef, french dip or polish sausage), side items (homemade baked beans, broccoli salad, potato salad, coleslaw or mac&cheese), dinner (half rack baby back ribs, st louis ribs, bbq chicken and pork or beef cubes) and large portions (above items but full racks instead of halves). After much pondering, partly because I do not have much of an appetite, I order a shredded bbq pork sandwich, a 1/2 rack St. Louis ribs and a side order of potato salad and baked beans. The apple dumplings on the counter look inviting and briefly I entertain the idea of skipping lunch and just going for dessert, but I end up making another mental note: Try the apple dumpling next time I'm in. My mental notes are made on the assumption that I am going to be back, and yet I have not tried a single bite. So when my order arrives several minutes after I place it, I admire the hot, crunchy roll that holds the shredded BBQ pork, the half rack of ribs covered in sauce in its cardboard container and the two small cups with potato salad and baked beans. The feast can begin! I first bite into the crunchy roll and savor the barbeque pork: not too spicy, not too sweet, just right! The meat is succulent and tender, and I'm starting to think my food-savvy acquaintances judged too soon. But when I take a quick bite of the potato salad, it reminds me of a popular potato salad product from the store, and I'm wondering how much of it is homemade. My next disappointment comes with the baked beans: they have added bacon and onions, but taste rather bland. Hopeful, I set the beans aside and reach for the ribs, expecting the meat to come off the bone without effort. But when I twist the outside rib, greyish meat reveals itself on the inside, and there is no way I get the meat off the bone unless I chew it off. The meat is dry, chewy and stringy, and I detect very little barbeque flavor once the taste of the sauce has worn off. Defeated I return to my sandwich and polish it off in four big bites, yummmm!!! My last mental note: stick with the sandwiches, and give the baby back ribs a try instead. And I *must* have that apple dumpling next time!

Great Family Atmosphere and Fantastic Food
DESCRIPTION: I have never been to Corky's when the food and service wasn't exceptional, even when I have driven through instead of eating in (love having a drive-thru, by the way). The service is very fast, very courteous and constant; you don't have to hunt down a waiter. The food has always been excellent. And they give you time to sit back, relax and actually enjoy your food. You're never rushed to leave.

THE BEST BARBECUE EVER
DESCRIPTION: This is no lie! I went to Corky's for the first time in JXN, MS.. On the way home I was trying to convince my husband to open a Corky's in IR if there wasn't one open already. I was elated to find out we had one in town close to where we live. I am so impressed with the food and service. They have just picked up a new faithful customer.

bbq cafeteria, sauce stands out
DESCRIPTION: This is a long time Rockville cafeteria. Best features are the ribs, the great bbq sauce, and the best bbq beans around. Chicken is a good bet too, although the pork and brisket bbq sandwiches are not quite as good as what's offered at other bbq places. This place has been consistent over the years and it's one of my standbys. I did not rate the service since it's a cafeteria and doesn't apply.

DESCRIPTION: Offering an American menu, this restaurant is located on the Indian River. In a city with few good restaurants, Pauls offers acceptable food at slightly upscale prices. Location, visibility, architecture and ambiance are the characteristics that attract a loyal clientel.

DESCRIPTION: Been there several times, when the owner is overseeing operations it is great; when he wasn't the service was spotty. Long delay in drink order and delivery. The oysters were served spoiled. I feel had the owner been there he would not have served the rotten oysters.

Best BBQ in Raleigh
DESCRIPTION: From the spicy boiled potatoes, to the tasty barbecue and Brunswick stew, to the yummy corn sticks, eastern NC style BBQ doesn't get much better. Served on comforting 50's style sectioned green plates. Family style = yum. The chicken is not their best dish, but still isn't bad.

Great Barbeque
DESCRIPTION: Boyd's BBQ is authentic Texas BBQ. I have lived in San Antonio for most of my life and I thought I would never see great BBQ again. That was until my wife and I went to Boyd's. Not only was the meat tender and jucy, the homemade potato salad was delicious. My wife especially liked the carrot cake. We can't wait to go back.

Good food - great price (Local Review)
DESCRIPTION: The flavor of their marinated meats is above all in the Rowland area. Great selection, with an affordable price (for Korean BBQ). The staff is friendly, the place is clean and the food (both DIY BBQ and cooked) is always fresh. Large booths to accomodate 10+ people and they have private rooms. They take credit cards. You'll spend about $15pp for dinner and $12 for lunch. Alcohol is extra, as well as sodas.

Excellent flavor and value
DESCRIPTION: For those of you not familiar with Korean BBQ restaurants, here is a treat. 7 buffet lines....soups, hot dishes, salads, deserts, sushi, seafood, meat and poultry. You pick your meat, chicken and seafood and return to your table where a little cast iron grille is ready for yout o BBQ your own food, just the way you like it. There are a number of Korean BBQ places in Rowland, but Feedables has the friendliest staff, and we think it has the best flavor. The sushi is a little lame, basic california roll or futomaki...nothing special on the sushi menu. Don't wear your Sunday's finest, because you will leavev smelling a little smokey from all the cooking going on, but it is well worth it.

Best Bar-B-Q'd Mutton on Earth
DESCRIPTION: An original secret "black" sauce from a fifth generation family tradition creates barbequed meats that are one-of-kind delicious. Various meats are available but the specialty is mutton. In a city that touts an "International Bar-B-Q Festival", you have to be good to get noticed. This is the best. It's all about the "Q" here, nothing else matters.

DESCRIPTION: There are other barbecue restaurants in town but Old Hickory is the best. I grew up there and was nearly an adult before I realized "barbecue" and "mutton" were not always the same thing! DESCRIPTION: While not the most famous restaurant in town, Old Hickory is the best. As a native of the town, I have grown up eating at all of the different restaurants and now exclusively go to Old Hickory. The mutton and burgoo alone are worth the 3 hour drive home from college.

Best Barbecue in the WORLD!
DESCRIPTION: Okay, okay, I'm another Owensboro native writing to plug the best barbecue anywhere. I now live in Texas, and import it everytime I go home. My parents now live in Louisville, but it's worth the two hour drive to stock up! While my brother and dad would disagree, the chopped mutton is the BEST! (They prefer the sliced.) Been going there for almost 50 years since it was in the cinderblock place across the street. I loved the old place, the new one is, well, new. You hear a lot more about The Moonlight... but the locals all eat at Old Hickory!

Old Hickory is second to none!
DESCRIPTION: I really hated giving a less than perfect score for "service" and "ambiance" regarding Old Hickory because this is a place that makes you feel like you can prop your feet up and make yourself at home. The hard working employee's are not perfect and the restaurant isn't exactly a place to propose marriage in candle lights and mandolins softly playing in the background. But that's exactly why Old Hickory is the best place to eat...down home folks serving up the best BBQ in Owensboro and making you feel like you are part of their family.
