Saturday Brunch
DESCRIPTION: Three of us, each ordering hamburgers. The French fries were varying degrees of cold and hot must have depended where the plate was placed in regards to the heat lamps). The buns showed the signs of being grilled, but were stone cold and hard. Hamburger was rubber.

Awesome Neighborhood Cafe
DESCRIPTION: Disagree strongly with other reviewer... my cheeseburger was very tasty and the fries came with amazing homemade ketchup. The bistro mussels were the best I've ever had, and there's a wonderful selection of belgian beers and great wines. NY strip steak is HUGE and delicious, big enough for two!

Saint-Excellent
DESCRIPTION: Swordfish and Mussels were both A+ and they have DTs on draft (Delrium). The design of this restaurant is one of the coolest outside of Paris.

Poor Service
DESCRIPTION: The woman who seated us was extremely rude and the waiter acted like he was doing us a favor to wait on us. Furthermore, the food is just average for the price. I give most places a second chance, but the service was so bad and rude here that I will not return.

Best drinks I can('t) remember!
DESCRIPTION: Love this place, absolutely love it. Closed the place down Wednesday night, or so I'm told (wink). Something about the Hawk'n'Dove just makes me want to tackle life all the more. Don't believe me? It was 2:45 in the morning and I was on my way to the "office"! Well, long story short, I would have reported for work at 3:00 a.m. if not for one of our fair city's men in blue putting some pylons in the road to make me think twice. Hawk'n'Dove for drinks? You bet, I'm there!

Great Place to Hang Out
DESCRIPTION: Great friendly services with a real neighborhood feel. Anyone will feel comfortable with three levels to choose from: Floor One: Meet friends at the local hangout, Floor Two: Sports Bar Heaven...20 TV's $3 Golden Tee, Fast Service, Floor Three: Black leather couches and candles to create the mood and chill. Decent menu, I recommend the Chicken Cheesesteak Sandwich to chow down while the game is on. Great Burgers and Wings!

Fun One Night Stand
DESCRIPTION: Came here on a Monday night and were wowed by the regular Monday band, One Night Stand. High energy music to suit a high energy bar. On the downside, the place was pretty smoky, and not all that clean (sticky tabletops). This was more than offset by the fun atmosphere, great music and good beer selection. We stayed until just before the last metro. The cover charge was a very reasonable $3, which we augmented when a jug was being handed around for contributions to the band. Since we didn't order any food, I can't comment on it. The menu did look tempting, though.

Home Cooking
DESCRIPTION: Whenever I'm in DC on business I try to have at least one dinner at Madam's. The food isn't gourmet, but its down home and plentiful. After days of conference lunches I re-ground myself with the meatloaf, green beans and potatoes.

Great Calamari!
DESCRIPTION: My Goodness the Calamari is great! The atmosphere is friendly, as well as the staff. Unique floors, you sure to have fun if you like a social, lively, and unique place to spend time.

bourbon from a cactus?
DESCRIPTION: LET ME GET THIS OUT OF THE WAY. The service, outside of the guy with the tats, was horrible. The girl that was working with him could have been one of the most unpersonable people I have ever met. I like checking out new bars in area. I stopped by with three friends, ordered a round of beers and bourbons, tipped forty percent, and the girl acted like I killed her puppy. First and last time there.

Not bad, not great
DESCRIPTION: Nice menu, service is mediocre, venue is too small and not laid out properly. The patio is nice if crowded. What are they planning for the upstairs? It needs another bar. Worth a pre-game trip or appetizers.

Disagree on the service
DESCRIPTION: Maybe that guy below just wasn't nice. Service is fine- it's just crowded so the bartenders won't be able to get to you right away. The drinks are great, super ambience, great bar food. Only place in DC with Lindemann's lambic on tap. A much needed place in Glover Park.

Great neighborhood bar
DESCRIPTION: Excellent bar. Bourbon, over the last year, has become my favorite DC hangout. The previous reviewer was right about the service at the time, but the waitstaff was replaced in its entirety about a week after that. The bourbon selection is unequalled, the food is excellent, and the staff are friendly and interesting.
