Authentic Sourdough Pancakes
DESCRIPTION: We had lived in Alaska for three years in the late 60's, and made our first trip back in the summer of 2005. We tried unsuccessfully to find authentic sourdough pancakes in the Anchorage area, so when we saw that the Sourdough Campground advertised the real thing, we gave them a try on the way back to the lower 48. So glad we did, as the all you can eat sourdough pancake breakfast was truly scrupmtious. Host Ken Albright kept the morning diners entertained with his colorful stories as he cooked and served the pancakes.

Don't Eat Here
DESCRIPTION: We went to the den to get a nice meal. The prices were very high so I expected that it would at least be good. Of the 5 of us that ate only two of us could even eat the food. That night the two that did spent the evening throwing up. After the meal I asked for a price break for the poorly prepared food and was told to take a hike. I will never go back and recommend the same.

DESCRIPTION: This place is great! If you can't afford it going into it, don't complain about the price, man! We live in Alaska, one of the most expensive places to live, so like it or lump it, that's what it is! This is a Fairbanks mainstay, and while I'm not a HUGE fan, the food is great, the ambiance is typical interior Alaskan, the decor is beautiful, and the service is great! I've spent time after the meals talking with Stu (the owner), and they've always been so genial and warm. It is a bit pricy, but what do you do? We paid over $5.35 for a gallon of milk 5 years ago, remember that?! At any rate, the Elf's Den is great! If you come up here, Check it out!

DESCRIPTION: If you consider yourself a connoisseur of fine burgers, then the Lucky Wishbone is a must. Fresh ground daily, the hand pressed burgers served by an exceptionally friendly staff rate high on any rating system. Also have an excellent fish sandwich, fried chicken, shakes and malts, just to mention a few of the long list of other menu items. The restaurant was opened in the mid 1950?s by a retired US Air Force family. Lots of interesting pictures and memorabilia.
